Flu Threat is not over yet

Carmel, IN, April 03, 2006 -- According to the National Flu Surveillance Network, the state of Indiana is under a FLU WATCH. Positive flu results have been reported throughout Indiana communities and are spreading. The states of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin are listed at the ALERT level, showing that positive flu results have been reported in these states as consistently as every other day and in moderate numbers. The late outbreak and huge spike in the number of reported flu cases are being attributed to a slow start in the epidemic this year. Indiana is in the path to be affected next.

The National Flu Surveillance Network (NFSN) is the leading real-time influenza disease tracking service. Its official web site can be found at www.Fluwatch.com. NFSN was originated in 1998 by ZymeTx, Inc. Current information on the spread of influenza can also be found at www.healthline.com/flucentral.jsp.

It is not too late to get the vaccine! Flu vaccine is effective 70-90% in the young and healthy, but less if immune system is compromised or with increasing age in the area of 65 years. Nightingale Home Healthcare still has flu shot vaccine available, and is offering flu shots to the public at a reduced cost of only $10. Medicare Part-B recipients who present their card will receive the shot at no charge. Nightingale will submit the claim to Medicare.

Nightingale asks that you call Stephanie Griffin at 866-334-7777 today to schedule an appointment…it is not too late to protect yourself and your loved ones!
