Nightingale is the recipient of the Mission Society award-given by WFYI TV

Pam Kissel and Tammi Sharr accept the Mission Society Award on behalf of Nightingale from WFYI representatives. September 19th, 2008 (Carmel, IN) -- Nightingale was a recent recipient of the Mission Society award-given by WFYI TV. WFYI public broadcasting is a center of discovery for all ages. Through unique programs, services and emerging technologies, they are a leading community resource, empowering people to discover their world, broaden their horizons, and become active participants in shaping the future. Through these efforts, WFYI builds communities and strengthens families in central Indiana. WFYI earned ten Regional Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2007-second highest in the Great Lakes Region and the best showing in WFYI's 37-year history.

Nightingale president, Dr. Dev Brar, said he was pleased to be a member of the prestigious Mission Society. "Our financial gift, along with others insures that the WFYI organization continues and thereby protects programs that are important to our community," said Dr. Brar.

The Mission Society is the highest level of corporate giving to WFYI. Mission Society members allow WFYI to fulfill its mission to serve as a community resource by providing educational, informational, and cultural services and entertainment of the highest quality through television and radio programs, educational telecommunications services and community outreach events and activities.

Other Mission Society members include Butler University, Clowes Memorial Hall of Butler University, Fairbanks, Ice Miller LLP, the Indiana Historical Society, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Marsh, and One America.
